Estancias in Peninsula Valdes

Peninsula Valdes, in Chubut province, has not only a wide range of fauna activities to offer all year long. In the last years, old ranches for sheep breeding decided to recycle their buildings to create an spectacular unique place, lodging with excellent room service for people whose contact with nature goes beyond regional fauna watching (sea lions, whales, sea elephants, penguins, etc.). For those who wants to have a closer relationship with Patagonia, there is a real opportunity when visiting one of these “estancias”:

. Rincón Chico: Rincón Chico is a comfortable country house; carefully hold by one of the pioneer families.
Rincon Chico has over 15 km of private Atlantic coastline with wild stretches of beaches upon which hundreds of elephant seals breed each year.
Changes Peninsula Valdes has suffered through the years can be seen in the geological formations in the area.
Rincón Chico is a perfect place for both lodging and enjoying right in the heart of Peninsula Valdes.
The house has eight comfortable en suite double-bedrooms, a cozy living-room and a dining-room decorated with old family furniture.

This estancia was originally built for sheepherding tasks; these rural facilities are now used to offer a new vision of the natural wonders of the region.

. La Ernestina: It is an impressive 14ha estancia in Peninsula Valdes. “La Ernestina” has a private penguin colony and on the coast, in front of “La Ernestina house”, takes place one of the most exciting annual wildlife spectacles on earth: orcas beach themselves in an attempt to catch unwary sea lions.
“La Ernestina” also offers you sheep-shearing, photographic safari, birds-watching and regional home-made dishes.
